Kangana Ranaut-Rajkummar Rao commence Mental Hai Kya shoot

Actors Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut, who last collaborated on the National award-winning film Queen (2014), are reuniting for Ekta Kapoor next, titled Mental Hai Kya. The project was announced a couple of months, with the official announcement followed up by a swarm of quirkily crazy posters. Today, Kangana and Rajkummar started shooting for the film in a Mumbai studio.

Rajkummar on Wednesday took to his social media account and wrote, “Day 1. Let's do this 'Mental Hai Kya'. Ekta Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Prakash Kovelmudi, Kanika Dhillon, Ruchika Kapoor."

In response to Rao’s tweet, producer Ekta Kapoor tweeted, "Oh yeah! Jai Mata Di."

Written by Kanika Dhillon, Mental Hai Kya is being helmed by National award-winning director Prakash Kovelmudi, who has previously directed many successful south Indian films such as Anaganaga O Dheerudu and Size Zero.

The film is being produced by Ekta Kapoor under her home banner Balaji Motion Pictures.
