Irrfan Khan starts shooting for Hindi Medium sequel titled Angrezi Medium

After months of wait and a medley of speculations, the National Film Award-winning actor Irrfan Khan has finally started shooting for the sequel to his blockbuster Bollywood film Hindi Medium (2017). The sequel, which was earlier rumoured to be titled Hindi Medium 2, has been christened Angrezi Medium.

This will be Irrfan Khan’s first movie after he took a break from films to undergo treatment for neuroendocrine tumour in London last year. The makers started the first schedule of the film in Udaipur with Khan and Radhika Madan. Kareena Kapoor Khan is expected to join the cast in the next schedule.


While Hindi Medium was helmed by Saket Chaudhary, Angrezi Medium is being directed by Homi Adajania. Homi has previously directed such popular films as Being Cyrus (2006), Cocktail (2012) and Finding Fanny (2014). Producer Dinesh Vijan is bankrolling the project under his banner Maddock Films.

After completing the first schedule in Udaipur, the team will head off to London to film the second schedule of the movie.

The film is expected to hit screens in the first half of 2020.

Anita Rani opens a new chapter centred on women who broke the rules

Broadcaster Anita Rani is moving beyond traditional interviews with the launch of Sisters of Defiance, a podcast focused on women who challenged expectations and carved out their own paths.

The series opens with Dame Meera Syal, one of the most influential British Asian writers and performers, in a conversation that blends deeply personal stories with wider discussions around identity, culture and representation. The podcast forms part of Rani’s newly launched production company and is filmed from her home studio, with episodes also available in video format.
