Management of India’s financial crisis-hit airline, Jet Airways is in talks with its pilots and other staff members, the company said on Thursday (06) after reports of warnings of non-cooperation from the pilots over their withheld payments.
“Management is confident of resolving these challenges and is in dialogue with the pilots and other members of its team to resolve some issues, including disbursement of salaries,” the airlines said to Reuters in a statement.
The pilots of the airline have warned the company of non-cooperation over unpaid salaries, India’s leading daily The Times of India had reported earlier, citing news agency Press Trust of India (PTI).
According to the local media reports, the pilots warned the air carrier that withholding the monthly salaries without prior notice is a serious matter of concern and the company will bear the full responsibility for its future consequences. If the management fails to address the issues of the pilots and not disbursing the salaries on time would cause to non-cooperaton.
However, the airline reportedly said that it has paid salaries on time to 84 per cent of its staff members and is committed to respect its obligations. Earlier, the airline had stated in August that it would pump cash and reduce costs in excess of £214.89 million in 24 months in an attempt to stop losses.
