Deepika to be replaced by Anushka in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next

After delivering three blockbusters – Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram Leela (2013), Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Padmaavat (2018) – with her, everyone was expecting that filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali would cast his favourite Deepika Padukone in his next directorial venture as well.

However, if fresh reports are to be believed, Anushka Sharma is replacing Deepika Padukone in the next film of the ace filmmaker. The movie stars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan as male leads.

Reportedly, the untitled project is based on Subhash Ghai’s blockbuster film Saudagar (1991), starring Dilip Kumar, Raajkumar and Manisha Koirala. Salman and SRK will play the roles of friends who turn foes.

Buzz has it that Salman Khan who wants Deepika Padukone to be replaced by Anushka Sharma in the movie as he is not very fond of Padukone because she had turned down a film by him, which was supposed to launch her, way before Om Shanti Om (2007).

Well, if Anushka agrees to star in the yet-to-be-titled film, it will mark her first collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
