Confirmed: Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan to headline Imtiaz Ali’s next

After months of speculations, it has been confirmed that rising Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan and newcomer Sara Ali Khan are teaming up for the next directorial venture of filmmaker Imtiaz Ali. The project is rumoured to be a sequel to the 2008 hit Love Aaj Kal, helmed by Ali.

Sara, who was most recently seen in the Rohit Shetty directorial Simmba (2018), is expected to start shooting for the untitled project in the next couple of days. Besides Kartik and Sara, the film will also feature Randeep Hooda in a prominent role.

“Kartik, Sara and Randeep Hooda have been doing readings for a while now and the film is ready to go on the floors. Unlike Imtiaz’s previous two films – Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017) and Tamasha (2015), which were set in foreign locales, this one largely unravels in Punjab and Delhi,” a source close to the development revealed.

When Kartik was contacted, he confirmed the news. “Yes, I am doing Imtiaz Sir next film- he is one of my favourite filmmakers and I have always wanted to work with him. I am glad it’s finally happening,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) actor is busy promoting his new film Luka Chuppi which rolls into cinemas today.
