Colors all set to launch a new show based on Aashiqui 2!

When Colors was launched way back in 2008, no one had thought that the new channel would go on to become so popular among the audience in no time. The channel will complete a decade of its journey next year. But before that, it is coming up with a number of great shows to woo the audience.

After launching Mahakali– Anth hi Aarambh Hai last month, Colors has now revealed the promo of its new fiction show Tu Aashiqui. The show is being produced by Mahesh Bhatt, and it's being said that it is the TV adaption of the sleeper hit film Aashiqui 2, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.

Tu Aashiqui features Jannat Zubair Rahmani and Ritik in the lead roles. Jannat, who has previously played the role of Phulwa on the Colors show, will now play a middle-class girl called Pankti Sharma while Ritik plays a musician Ahaan Dhanrajgir. Ritik's character is inspired from Aditya Roy Kapur’s in ‘Aashiqui 2’. Sources also reveal that the basic story of Tu Aashiqui is inspired from the Hollywood movie Endless Love featuring Brooke Shields.

Well, whether the show is really a TV adaptation of Aashiqui 2 or Endless Love is something we will get to know only after it goes on air. Tu Aashiqui is expected to go on air around Diwali.
