Children and elderly not to be permitted in Amarnath Yatra

Children below 13 years in age and elderly persons above the age of 75 years will not be permitted to undertake the annual Amarnath Yatra which is expected to begin from June 29. The Amarnath Shrine Board, in an advisory, also asked women pilgrims not to wear saree during pilgrimage and instead dress in ‘salwar kameez’, pant-shirt or track-suit. Children below 13 years in age and elderly persons above the age of 75 years shall not be permitted to undertake the pilgrimage, the advisory said.
