A British Asian Labour MEP was heckled by people asking her to "go home" during her speech in the West Midlands.
Neena Gill, who was re-elected on Sunday as the first British Asian Sikh woman MP, was making her acceptance speech when supporters of the Brexit Party started yelling at her.
West Midlands Labour posted a video of the incident on Twitter and captioned it: “Angry Brexit Party supporters at Birmingham count telling first British-Asian Sikh woman MEP @NeenaGmep to 'go home' exposes an ugly truth."
The 50-second video shows a Brexit party supporter saying "f*** off" multiple times during the speech. Others can be heard saying "Off, off, off."
One crowd member shouted: “That’s the rhetoric that brought us here" and another yelled: "You're allowed to call us a fascist?"
“Half a million people are nasty and fascist,” added another.
According to the BBC, Gill had accused the Brexit Party of being "far-right" and "fascist."
Condemning the incident, Matt Western, MP for Warwick and Leamington, wrote: “This should disturb any decent, tolerant person in our community and our country. @NeenaGmep has been, and will continue to be an excellent representative for the W. Midlands.”
