Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and others mourn Sushma Swaraj’s demise

Last night, we got a sad news that former Minister of External Affairs of India, Sushma Swaraj passed away. The 67-year-old BJP leader suffered a cardiac arrest. She was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi in a critical condition. The news surely shocked one and all, and soon people on social media started mourning about her demise. Even our Bollywood celebs, took to Twitter to showcase their sadness about the great leader’s death.

Amitabh Bachchan, who had met Sushma Swaraj, tweeted, “'मृदुभाषी, सम्मोहक वक्ता, मिलनसार, दुखहर्ता। सुषमाजी जैसों का रिक्त स्थान कभी नहीं भरता।।“


Veteran actress Shabana Azmi wrote on Twitter, “Deeply saddened that Sushma Swaraj has passed away.Inspite of political differences we had an extremely cordial relationship. I was 1 of her Navratans as she called us during her I and B ministership and she gave industry status to film. Articulate sharp and accessible. RIP.”

Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Extremely sad to hear about the passing away of #SushmaSwaraj ji...she was such a dynamic leader, someone who was unanimously admired and respected by all. My thoughts and prayers with her family. May her soul rest in peace.”

Sushma Swaraj hailed from Ambala Cantt and Parineeti Chopra who is also from the same place, tweeted, “I hail from Ambala Cantt, same as Sushma Swaraj ji. Always felt proud that a woman from our small town made it big, and made a difference. Sushma ji rest in peace. You inspired me on a personal level. #RIPSushmaSwarajJi.”

Ajay Devgn wrote on Twitter, “Devastated with the untimely demise of Sushma Swaraj ji. A dynamic and an inspiring leader. Immense loss to the nation! May her soul rest in peace. #SushmaSwaraj.”

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar also tweeted, “Deeply shocked and saddened to hear about Sushma Swaraj ji’s sudden demise. A graceful and honest leader,  a sensitive and selfless soul, a keen understanding of music and poetry and a dear friend. Our former external minister will be remembered fondly.”
