Akshay Kumar and his festival releases in 2020

Akshay Kumar is one actor who has multiple releases in a year. In 2019, he had four releases, Kesari, Mission Mangal, Housefull 4 and Good Newws. All the four films released during public holidays weekend. Kesari released during Holi, Mission Mangal on Independence Day, Housefull 4 on Diwali and Good Newws near New Years.

Well, in 2020 also Akshay will have four releases and three of them will release on the three major festivals…


Laxmmi Bomb (Eid 2020)

Earlier on Eid 2020, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi was slated to hit the screens, but the release date of the movie was changed to 27th March 2020 (a non-holiday release). However, Akshay will have a release on Eid 2020 and it will be Laxmmi Bomb. The film will clash with Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, and both Salman and Akki are in no mood to avoid the clash.

Prithviraj (Diwali 2020)

Akshay Kumar has teamed up with YRF to star in the biopic on king Prithviraj Chauhan. Titled Prithviraj, the movie will mark the debut of former Miss World, Manushi Chillar. The biopic is being directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and it will be hitting the screens on Diwali 2020. Well, this Akshay starrer also won’t get a solo release as Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad will be hitting the screens on Diwali 2020 as well.

Bachchan Pandey (Christmas 2020)

While on Eid 2020 Akshay will clash with Salman Khan, on Christmas 2020 it will be Akshay Kumar vs Aamir Khan at the box office. Akshay starrer Bachchan Pandey will be hitting the screens on Christmas 2020 and even Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha is slated to release on the same day. It will be interesting to see if this clash will be averted.

Well, from the past few years, Akshay opted to release a movie of his on Independence Day, but 2020 will be an exception.

Madhuri Dixit’s recent Toronto show has not gone down well. People who turned up say they spent about £160 (₹16,800 approx) thinking they would see a full concert. What they got instead was mostly talk and a few short dance bits. Many walked out, calling it a mess, with a late start, poor planning, and nothing like what was advertised.

The Dil Se… Madhuri show took place on November 2 at Toronto’s Great Canadian Casino Resort. Posters promised an evening of “magic, moves & unforgettable charm,” with the tagline “Toronto turns Dhak Dhak.” But attendees say the reality did not match the hype.
