Ajay, Ranveer to join Akshay Kumar in Sooryavanshi

Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi is one of the most-awaited movies of 2020. The project has been in news right after the director dropped a glimpse of it in his last directorial venture Simmba (2018), featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead role.

Starring superstar Akshay Kumar as an ATS officer, Sooryavanshi also features Katrina Kaif in the lead role. Kumar is the newest entrant in the cop universe created by Rohit Shetty, the previous two being Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham and Ranveer Singh as Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba.

The director is currently in Hyderabad where he will shoot the climax of Sooryavanshi in Ramoji Film City. According to reports, a massive set has been constructed for the climax scene which will be shot over a schedule of 20 days starting from today. What makes the climax scene of Sooryavanshi special is the fact that it will feature all the three actors of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe together for the first time.

“It will be a grand finale with Singham, Simmba and Sooryavanshi teaming up to fight a larger-than-life situation. Rohit and his writers have been working on the climax for months and have finally cracked a scenario which does justice to the three super cops,” reveals a source close to the development.

The source goes on to add that Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh will have an extended cameo in the film. “This is a first for Bollywood and everyone is excited,” the source says in conclusion.

Produced by Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar under the banners of Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions respectively, Sooryavanshi is scheduled for its grand release on 27th March, 2020.

Young British Asians finally get a platform on BBC Asian Network to talk identity, mental health and work life

Highlights:

  • BBC Asian Network is starting a new show called Asian Network Trending.
  • The show runs for two hours every week and is made for young British Asians.
  • It covers the topics that matter most to them like what’s trending online, questions of identity, mental health etc.
  • Amber Haque and the other hosts will share the show in turns, each talking about the issues they know and care about.
  • The network is moving to Birmingham as part of bigger changes behind the scenes.

Speaking up isn’t always easy. This show gives young people a space where their voices can be heard. Music on the radio, sure. Bhangra, Bollywood hits, endless remixes. But real conversations about identity, family pressure, mental health? Rarely. Until now.

From 27 October, Asian Network Trending goes live every Wednesday night for two hours of speech instead of beats. The first hour dives into trending news; the second hour goes deeper into family expectations, workplace racism, LGBTQ+ issues, and mental health stigma. And it’s not just one voice. Amber Haque and other rotating presenters keep it fresh.
