Abhishek Chaubey’s Sone Chidaiya to start rolling from Jan 10, 2018!

After his much-talked about film Chanda Mama Door Ke has been put on hold once again, Sushant Singh Rajput is now gearing up to start shooting for acclaimed filmmaker Abhishek Chaubey’s next directorial Sone Chidaiya.

Joining him as the leading lady of the film will be the vivacious Bhumi Pednekar, who is basking in the success of her last release Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Besides Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar, the film also boasts the presence of talented actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Ashutosh Rana and Ranvir Shorey in key roles.


Set in the 1970s’, Sone Chidaiya revolves around the haven of dreaded dacoits, Chambal. Earlier, the film was titled Chambal only, but the makers opted for a new title later. Reportedly, the movie will be high on emotions and drama with a love story in the backdrop.

Director Abhishek Chaubey is known for his films rooted in small towns or interiors of India, especially the northern part of the county and his next outing will also have a countryside setting.

After completing their pre-production work, including a thorough recce across various shooting locations, the team will start rolling the film from 10th January 2018 onwards. Sone Chidaiya will be shot across real locations of Morena and Bhind in Madhya Pradesh.

Sone Chidaiya is being bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala. This is the first time when Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar will be collaborating with Abhishek Chaubey.

The conversation, meant to be about the making of the film, turned into an unscripted moment when Sadhguru asked why a “handsome man like Yash” had been cast as the villain Ravana.
