Aayush Sharma approached by ace filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi

Though his debut film LoveYatri (2018) fell flat at the box-office, filmmakers in Bollywood did take notice of newcomer Aayush Sharma. What makes us think so? Well, despite delivering a dud, the young actor has been offered many films in the past few months. However, Aayush seems in no hurry to sign new films left, right and centre.

The latest filmmaker who reportedly approached Aayush a while back is Rajkumar Santoshi. “The filmmaker had approached Aayush for a movie sometime back. Once the script was finalised, the latter was given a narration, following which he gave his nod to the project. It’s a love story replete with comedy and action,” a source revealed.

Aayush Sharma is presently busy preparing for his second film, which is an official remake of Marathi flick Mulshi Pattern (2018). The untitled film is being bankrolled by the actor’s superstar brother-in-law Salman Khan.

“Aayush will sport a new look for his second film. He has been on a red meat diet as he has to gain around 16 kilos for the part. He has already put on over 10 kilos and is working out. He is also learning Marathi as the story is set in rural Maharashtra,” added another source.

'Doctor Who' gets a 2026 Christmas lifeline as BBC ends Disney+ partnership

Highlights:

  • A new Doctor Who Christmas special is confirmed for 2026, written by Russell T Davies.
  • The BBC’s global partnership with Disney+ has ended after two seasons.
  • The BBC says it’s “fully committed” and will announce full series plans later.
  • Spin-off ‘The War Between the Land and the Sea’ and a CBeebies animation are still on the way.

Looks like the Doctor will be making another Christmas stop. The BBC says Doctor Who will return in 2026 with a festive special, a quiet way of telling fans the TARDIS isn’t going anywhere, even as its deal with Disney+ ends.

The announcement ends months of speculation about the sci-fi institution, which hasn't been on screen since Ncuti Gatwa’s final episode in May, which ended with the surprise appearance of Billie Piper. The special will be written by showrunner Russell T Davies, but the big news is the end of the Disney+ deal, which had handled the show’s distribution outside the UK since 2022.
