Aamir Khan is no longer a part of Rakesh Sharma biopic?

Aamir Khan was supposed to start work on Rakesh Sharma biopic right after completing Dangal. However, the actor bagged Yash Raj Films' Thugs Of Hindostan and is currently shooting for the same.

A couple of months ago, rumours were doing the rounds that Mr Perfectionist wanted versatile actor Ranveer Singh to essay the titular role of Rakesh Sharma in the biopic. The latest buzz has it that Khan has opted out of the project.

If a report published in one of the leading entertainment magazines is to be believed, Aamir has decided to bow out of the big-ticket project. The report further adds that the makers are now looking for a suitable replacement.

Tentatively titled Salute, the Rakesh Sharma biopic is being produced by Siddharth Roy Kapoor.

It is being said that Aamir Khan has said no to the project as he has shown interest in the Kishore Kumar biopic over Salute.

It will be interesting to see who the makers rope in to fill the shoes of Aamir Khan.

TroyBoi returns to his Indian roots with Rootz EP using Lata Mangeshkar’s voice to redefine British diaspora music

Highlights:

  • TroyBoi’s five-track EP Rootz is a personal return to the sounds of his childhood, released via Ultra Records in September 2025.
  • The single Kabhi uses an officially cleared sample of Lata Mangeshkar’s vocal from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
  • Collaborations with Amrit Maan, Jazzy B and BombayMami plug Punjabi, Bhangra and south-Asian textures directly into modern trap and bass production.
  • This EP is part of a wider wave: British artists born into diasporas are using heritage not as garnish but as foundation.

Some albums hit you in ways you don’t see coming. Rootz is one of them. Not just another trap EP. TroyBoi, the London-born producer known for global bass and trap, has made something that’s also deeply personal. He didn’t just want to make music that bangs in clubs; instead, he wanted to reach back to the India of his childhood. And he did it with Rootz.

The track everyone’s talking about is Kabhi. Because it’s not just sampling Bollywood. Lata Mangeshkar’s voice was officially cleared for use on a non-Bollywood release, a milestone reported by multiple outlets. It’s history. It’s memory. And it’s a bridge.
