Harley Street star dentist suspended from practice

A HARLEY STREET dentist has been suspended from practice for six months after sleeping with a patient, it was reported this week.

Dr Sahil Patel, 28, an associate dentist at Harley Street Smile Clinic in London, admitted to having a sexual relationship with the woman after he treated her. The pair met after she had veneers fitted by the dentist.

After the treatment, Patel gave his number to the woman, and they met in west London for drinks. They slept together on their second meeting.

Patel argued the single mother was no longer his patient at the time of the relationship.

The General Dental Council (GDC) rejected his claim and said Patel had breached their code of conduct.

After the verdict, the woman, known as Patient A, said “justice had been served”.

She told the GDC hearing she felt "used and abused" by Patel.

She said: “He abused his position and he lied to get what he wanted and played on my vulnerabilities. I am relieved that justice was served and the GDC was able to see though his lies to try and save his career.”

According to the Harley Street Smile Clinic's website, Patel’s “wealth of experience has included creating the smiles of several reality TV personalities, Members of Parliament, professional athletes, and social media influencers".

A spokesman for the Harley St clinic was unavailable for comment.
