YRF finalizes Vaani Kapoor for Shamshera

Yesterday, we had reported that actress Vaani Kapoor is being considered to play the female lead in Yash Raj Films' forthcoming movie, Shamshera, opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Today, all speculations turned true when YRF officially announced the name of the actress on their Twitter handle.

The tweet on YRF's official page read, "@Vaaniofficial is all set to sizzle like never before in our upcoming action-adventure #Shamshera along with #RanbirKapoor & @duttsanjay @ShamsheraMovie | @karanmalhotra21."

Shamshera is being helmed by Agneepath and Brothers fame Karan Malhotra. In a statement, the director said, “Vaani plays Ranbir’s love interest in the film and is a very important collaborator in his character’s journey. Her character graph is interlinked to the plot of the film, making her a crucial catalyst in our hero’s rebellious mission.

Adding further, Malhotra said that Vaani is perfect for the female lead role in the movie. “Vaani is a perfect fit for the role. She is a fine actor, a fabulous dancer and a gorgeous Hindi film heroine. We wanted someone absolutely fresh to wow audiences on the big screen and she beautifully fits that brief.”

Shamshera mounts the shooting floor at the end of the year. The makers are planning to wrap it up by mid-2019.
