Tumhari Sulu preponed to avoid a clash with Padmavati?

Padmavati is one of the biggest Hindi films of the year 2017 in terms of everything. It is directed by one of the most celebrated filmmakers of Hindi cinema. It boasts of some of the biggest stars of Bollywood. And it is one of the costliest films of Indian cinema ever.

The audience is eagerly waiting for the release of the film. If you remember Sanjay Leela Bhansali had announced 17th November 2017 as the release of the film when he started shooting for it. But by the time shooting of the film came to an end, he suddenly changed his mind and decided to release his film Padmavati on 1st of December.


Interestingly, 1st December was already booked for the release of T-Series' film Tumhari Sulu starring Vidya Balan. But a couple of days back the makers of Vidya Balan starrer preponed their film a week early and now Tumhari Sulu will release on 24th November.

Now, when the release date of Padmavati has been locked officially, people have started talking whether the makers of Tumhari Sulu preponed their film's release to avoid a clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film.

Yash, who plays the demon king Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, says his portrayal was shaped by one clear goal: making the character relatable beyond Indian audiences.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, where the film was presented alongside major Hollywood releases, the actor said he worked to strip away the purely mythological reading of the role.

"I have tried to internalise the whole essence of Ravana and tried to make him as human as possible at times," Yash told Reuters.

"It is important for people to relate to him, and since we have global ambitions, we need to make it familiar to a Western audience as well."
