Tendulkar launches gaming platform featuring him

A Pune-based gaming firm JetSynthesys backed up by Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, has come up with a amazing mobile game on none other than the God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar.

This game is hoping to tap millions of cricket fans of the former Indian captain and reach across the country.

JetSynthesys, who manages the digital properties for Tendulkar, said that he had seen nearly millions of users pre-register to download the game even before the launch.

The game was launched today where the star batsman was also present, and hopes to see over five million users downloading and playing this on their smartphones.

Over two days, the firm has captured Tendulkar playing his natural game in its studios and recreated them on the mobile game — Sachin Saga Cricket Champions that operates on a freemium model.

It has in-app purchases for users who are keen to play the higher levels.

"There is a revenue share with Tendulkar's agency," said Rajan Navani, Managing Director and Vice Chairman for JetSynthesys. The firm, which did not disclose financials, however said that they have over 30 million users globally and plans to reach over 100 million in the next few years.

"Monetization is a challenge now. The aim is to get $6-7 revenue per user. Once we reach scale, it is possible," Navani said.

The firm has invested in a platform that uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to improvise the game for users who can play on low end smartphones.

"I wanted to ensure that everyone got a chance to play this game, no matter what phone they had, hence our team has really worked hard to bring this game to every mobile device. I really hope the game helps cricket enthusiasts to become champions in the digital games arena with their talent and my experience,” said Tendulkar in a statement.

Gopalakrishnan, who is an investor and non-executive chairman at JetSynthesys has shared technology insights with the game developers for the mobile game so that it has visuals as effective as in console game.

“Our global game development team at JetSynthesys has leveraged state of the art technology to create an engaging experience for gamers around the world, in a sport that is a religion in India, brought to life with the iconic Sachin Tendulkar,” Gopalakrishnan said.

'Either our water will flow or their blood': Bilawal Bhutto threatens India

IN AN escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has issued a stark warning to India following its suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, declaring that "either our water or their blood will flow through it."

Speaking at a public rally, Bhutto-Zardari's inflammatory rhetoric signals Pakistan's fury over India's punitive actions taken in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. His comments represent one of the most aggressive statements from a Pakistani leader since the incident occurred.

A spell of warm weather forecast for the UK is set to benefit nature in the short term, with increased activity expected among birds, butterflies and other wildlife.

Described by some forecasters as a “mini-heatwave”, the brief rise in temperatures at the end of April is likely to bring migratory birds back sooner and encourage the emergence of insects such as butterflies and dragonflies.
