Taapsee Pannu turns Rashmi Rocket for the big screen

It was just a couple of days ago, when Taapsee Pannu had stated that she will be starring in a sports film which will be announced soon. And yes, it has been announced. Titled as Rashmi Rocket, Taapsee will be seen as an athlete in the film.

The actress took to Instagram to share the motion poster of the film with her fans. She posted, “On your marks... ‪Get set.... ‪Halo.. ‪Meet the headstrong  ‪And fearless #RashmiRocket. @akvarious #RonnieScrewvala @RSVPMovies @iammangopeople @nehaanand21 @pranjalnk @shubhshivdasani Music for the motion poster: @leslelewisofficial ‪Shooting starts soon :)”

Taapsee will be seen as a Gujarati athlete in the film and Rashmi Rocket will be her third sports-based film. Last year, the actress played the role of a Hockey player in Soorma and in her next release Saand Ki Aankh, she plays the role of a shooter in the movie. Saand Ki Aankh is slated to hit the screens on Diwali this year and it also stars Bhumi Pednekar.

While talking about Rashmi Rocket, Taapsee told a daily, “This story instantly hit the right chord when I heard the idea. It’s one of those few films I was waiting to be developed into a script for me to do. Funnily, I have been made to run in almost every film I’ve done in every other genre. But this time, it’s going to be an out-and-out athlete’s tale. What excited me the most was the human drama that unfolds in her life, which makes it much more than a regular story of an athlete.”

Rashmi Rocket will be directed by Akarsh Khurana and produced by Ronnie Screwvalla’s RSVP Movies. In the motion poster, Taapsee sports a never-seen-before avatar and we are sure that the actress will impress us with her act.
