Shero first look: Sunny Leone stuns us in a never-seen-before avatar

Recently, Sunny Leone wrapped up the shooting of her Tamil film Shero, and on Saturday (07), the actress took to Twitter to share the first look poster of the movie.

Sunny tweeted, “Survival is my Revenge !! Showcasing the first look of my first Tamil movie #SHERO #SunnyLeone #Shero #Sheromovie #Firstlook #poster #tamil #hindi #telugu #malayalam #kannada I can’t wait for you guys to watch it!!!”

Well, the first look poster is damn good and we haven’t seen Sunny in this avatar earlier.

While the poster has been unveiled, the makers have not yet announced the release date of the film. Directed by Sreejith Vijayan, Shero will also release in other languages like Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

On Thursday, when Sunny wrapped up the shoot, the actress had tweeted, “It's a wrap for #SheroMovie!! I had an amazing time shooting with this great team. Can't wait for the release #sreejithVijayan @IkigaiMotion.”

While talking about casting Sunny Leone in the film, Vijayan had earlier told Times of India, “It was a story that we tried to conceive within the constraints of Covid – 19 protocols. And once completed, the team behind the film said that I can go to any lengths to cast the right person for it. Even then, I was thinking at first in terms of artistes from the South alone. The plot’s progression isn’t too dialogue-oriented, but the subject has a pan-Indian potential. While thinking on those lines, we later felt that someone like Sunny, who is known across languages here, would be the right choice for the film.”

Riz Ahmed’s 'Hamlet' trailer drops murder suspicion into a South Asian business dynasty

Highlights:

  • Hamlet trailer lands with Riz Ahmed in the lead role
  • Film sets Shakespeare inside a wealthy British South Asian family
  • Directed by Aneil Karia and in cinemas 6 February 2025
  • Cast includes Morfydd Clark, Joe Alwyn, Sheeba Chadha and Art Malik

Riz Ahmed has entered Hamlet in a way British cinema has not quite seen. The new Hamlet trailer has been released by Universal, giving the first proper look at Aneil Karia’s modern take on Shakespeare and placing the story inside a British South Asian business empire. It is due in cinemas on 6 February, and the footage shows a tense, controlled Ahmed moving through grief, suspicion and family power.

The film teams Ahmed and Karia again after The Long Goodbye, which won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short. That success informs this production. This is the first time a major UK studio release has grounded Hamlet within a South Asian household for a wide audience.
