Shahid Kapoor & Shree Narayan Singh to reteam for a thriller

Actor Shahid Kapoor and filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh, who are currently working towards capping off their first collaboration Batti Gul Meter Chalu, have decided to continue their association and reteam for a new project.

Yes, Shahid will headline the cast of Singh’s next film which is currently at the scripting stage. Before commencing work on the untitled project, the Haider (2014) star will complete two of his upcoming films: one is the Hindi remake of Telugu hit Arjun Reddy (2017) and the second one being an untitled sports movie with director Raja Krishna Menon.

Talking about the same, a source revealed, “The project will go on the floors sometime next year after Shahid wraps up the shoot of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Arjun Reddy remake and Raja Krishna Menon’s sports film where he plays a boxer. Shree Narayan’s film is a thriller set in Uttar Pradesh and the details of the shoot are currently under works.”

When director Singh was contacted, he confirmed the project. Spilling some beans, he said, “The story is based in the heartland of India. Once the script is ready we will decide when to go on the floors but it will be in 2019 as Shahid has to fulfil all prior commitments as well before starting my film. I can promise that it’s a story no one has attempted before and we are planning it in great detail. Shahid and I are friends now and share a certain comfort level and we luckily found the perfect script.”

Also starring Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in lead roles, Batti Gul Meter Chalu enters cinemas on 31st August, 2018.
