Shah Rukh Khan’s next with Yash Raj Films put on hold?

According to reports, Yash Raj Films, one of the leading production houses in India, was gearing up to announced a couple of big-ticket projects in April, marking 50 years in the showbusiness. However, the latest we hear that there is a big change in the plan as the much-anticipated announcement has been called off in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

If reports are to be believed, Yash Raj Films’ slate of upcoming movies also included a film with superstar Shah Rukh Khan. But since the production house has decided to postpone the announcement, the film with SRK has also been put on hold.

Spilling more beans on the project with Khan, a source in the know informs an entertainment portal, “It is a big scale action film, which was to be shot across the globe, and Siddharth Anand was planning to go on a recce to explore several virgin locations. However, he has dropped the plan now owing to the travel ban, and will go on a recce only once everything settles down.”

The source goes on to add, “The idea was for SRK to shoot for two films this year – the Siddharth Anand actioner and Rajkumar Hirani’s feel good drama. But it is all a wait and watch scenario and there lies a strong possibility of his comeback film post ‘Zero’ (2018) getting delayed further.”

Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in his home production Zero (2018) alongside Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The superstar had a lot of hopes from the film, but it failed to live up to the high expectations of the audience and bombed at the box-office. Khan has not signed any project ever since.

Sumukhi Suresh says Hoemonal proves women back bold comedy on their own terms

Sumukhi Suresh Unfiltered: Why women deserve bigger stages as she brings a riskier 'Hoemonal' to London

Highlights:

  • Comedian-creator Sumukhi Suresh frames Hoemonal as a string of lived moments shaped by “hormones” rather than neat narratives.
  • The show has grown in scope since its last London run: larger venues, fuller ambitions and a clearer audience focus on women.
  • Sumukhi discusses risk, crafting unlikeable protagonists (Pushpavalli), founding Motormouth Writers and the practical demands of touring big productions.

Sumukhi Suresh opened Hoemonal by naming the show’s true co-star: hormones. The title, she says, is not a punchline. It works more like a container for all the loose, messy pieces of life that she threads together onstage — the doubts, the desires, the shifts in confidence, and the everyday disorder most women recognise but rarely hear spoken aloud.

Speaking exclusively to Eastern Eye ahead of her London shows, Sumukhi Suresh is direct, thoughtful and quick with her humour, much like she is onstage.
