Saiyami Kher’s next with Anurag Kashyap starts rolling

A couple of days ago, we reported about Mirzya (2016) actress Saiyami Kher bagging her second Bollywood project. The latest we hear that the untitled film has already gone on floors in Mumbai. It will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule of three months as the makers are looking at releasing it towards the year-end.

The yet-to-be-titled film is being bankrolled by renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who has just floated his new production house after the dissolution of Phantom Films last year. Besides Saiyami Kher, the movie also stars Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew. Roshan is set to foray into Hindi films with the project.

A source close to the development reveals that apart from Saiyami Kher and Roshan Mathew, the movie also boasts of a strong ensemble cast. “The entire story is set in the city (Mumbai) and will be filmed in three months. Apart from the two leads, there is a strong ensemble cast in the film,” the source said.

Confirming the development to a popular tabloid, Saiyami said, “Yes, I am currently shooting for the film and it has still not sunk in that I am in an Anurag Kashyap film. It’s an understatement to say that I am excited to be a part of this project. I can’t really talk too much about my character or plot as of now.”

Saiyami Kher made her acting debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s big-ticket film Mirzya, which also marked the silver screen debut of Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan Kapoor. However, the film sank at the box-office without a trace. After the terrible fate of Mirzya, Saiyami Kher did not get any Hindi film.

She then ventured into Marathi cinema and made her debut with a film called Mauli (2018), co-starring Riteish Deshmukh. The film turned out to be a money spinner at the box-office. Anurag Kashyap’s next production marks her comeback to Bollywood.
