Ranveer Singh and Zoya Akhtar set for a hat-trick of films?

After delivering two hits together – Dil Dhadakne Do (2015) and Gully Boy (2018) – Ranveer Singh and Zoya Akhtar are rumoured to be joining forces for the third time. Yes, you heard that right! A hat-trick of films in on the cards for Ranveer and Zoya.

According to latest media reports, Zoya is currently searching for a story with Singh in mind. Since her next may be a two-hero project, one more actor may come onboard when it finally takes shape.

Buzz also has it that Zoya Akhtar wants to make a gangster movie, a territory that she has never explored before in her career. If reports are anything to go by, she may even consider acquiring remake rights of Hollywood biggies like Gangs of New York (2002) and The Departed (2006).

“She wants to take a film and adapt it for our desi audience, and it will be set in Mumbai too. She is also on the lookout for the second lead,” a source in the know reveals to an entertainment magazine.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently preparing for his next film 83. He also has filmmaker Karan Johar’s period drama Takht in hand, which is expected to start rolling towards the end of the year.

More details on her next project with Zoya Akhtar are awaited.
