Rana Daggubati joins the cast of comic-caper Housefull 4

Known for playing the lead antagonist Bhallaldeva in ace filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s gobsmackingly epic two-part movie series Baahubali, actor Rana Daggubati has now landed a pivotal role in Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming multi-starrer Housefull 4, which is the fourth instalment of the Housefull (2010) franchise.

Daggubati has replaced veteran actor Nana Patekar in the movie. Patekar had recently walked out of the comic-caper after actress Tanushree Dutta accused him of sexual harassment. After his exit, the makers approached Rana who liked the script so much that he immediately agreed to come onboard.

“It is always good to find work outside of Hyderabad, get to learn so much and do so many new things. I have never been part of a genre like Housefull and it’s always exciting to work with different genres. Working with Akshay Kumar again (both worked together on Neeraj Pandey’s 2015 film Baby), Sajid (Nadiadwala) and Farhad (Samji) is something I am really looking forward to,” the actor said.

Besides Rana Daggubati, Housefull 4 also stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde in significant roles. The movie is being helmed by Farhad Samji and is scheduled to hit the silver screen on Diwali 2019.

Meanwhile, Rana is presently shooting for the hotly anticipated NTR biopic wherein he will be seen as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Bollywood actress Vidya Balan also plays an important character in the biopic.
