Queen star Kangana Ranaut to play Arunima Sinha in a biopic!

It seems Queen actress Kangana Ranaut, too, has been gripped by the fever of biopics. After Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Kangana is the next top Bollywood actress who has no qualms in starring in a film based on someone else's life.

The actress, who is currently busy shooting for her forthcoming period film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, has now been cast in yet another biopic. Buzz has it that the National Award winner has given a nod to feature in a biopic based on the life of Arunima Sinha, the first woman amputee to climb the Mount Everest.

If reports are to be believed, the project was earlier supposed to be bankrolled by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. However, things did not fall in place with them and a different production house had to pitch in.

Initially, the makers wanted to rope in Kriti Sanon to play Arunima Sinha, but Arunima herself finalized the name of actress Kangana Ranaut to portray her eventful life on the celluloid.

"The makers were to decide between Kriti Sanon and Kangana. Since the latter's schedule looked packed because she's shooting for Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, they were sceptical. But Arunima took the final call on the lead," a source reveals.

The yet-to-be-titled film is expected to mount floors in March next year and the makers are planning a straight 60 days schedule. An official announcement regarding the project and other cast members is expected to come out soon.
