Priyanka Chopra opens up about friendship with Duchess of Sussex

BOLLYWOOD actress Priyanka Chopra has opened up about her friendship with Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, saying she always knew the former Suits star was meant for bigger things.

In a candid interview with Elle UK, Chopra said the Duchess has the platform to "be a change and be an important voice in doing that."

“Megs… she was always meant for big things," said Chopra in the August issue of the magazine.

“To be a change and be an important voice in doing that. It’s amazing that she found that calling and has the platform to be able to do it.”

Priyanka continued: “By the time this comes out, she will have a baby [Archie was born on May 6] – it’s so amazing how lives change.

“I’m a big believer in taking charge of your life, but there’s got to be something bigger that puts us into the circumstances that we are put in.”

“Destiny has a weird way of helping you to find your calling,” she added.

Chopra and the Duchess became friends in 2016, after meeting at the Elle Women in Television dinner. Talking about their first meeting, Chopra said they bonded as actors and became friends "like two girls would."

The Duchess said theirs was a friendship at first sight. She had also expressed a desire to work with Chopra in a Bollywood film.

"I would love to work with her on a film one day! I told her specifically that my dream is to work with her on a Bollywood film, because I think it would be so much fun — she said I should do it!" Markle told Press Trust of India in 2016.
