India prime minister Narendra Modi has accepted cricketer Virat Kohli's fitness challenge.
“Challenge accepted!” wrote Modi on Twitter as response to Kohli’s tweet and added that he would soon post his own fitness challenge video on social media.
Indian skipper Kohli had challenged Modi, cricketer MS Dhoni and his wife Anushka Sharma as a part of sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore #HumFitTohIndiaFit campaign.
Rathore, who is the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and an Olympic medalist, had posted online a video of him doing push ups and urged everyone to shoot a video of their "fitness mantra" and share it. The video also shows him showering compliments on Modi for juggling a hectic schedule "effortlessly".
Modi has often credited yoga for his high energy levels.
Speaking about his fitness routine in a Google hangout, Modi once said: “I am equally energetic from morning till night. I guess the secret behind it is yoga and [breathing exercises]. Whenever I feel tired, I just practice deep breathing and that refreshes me again.”
Rathore has also challenged badminton player Saina Nehwal and Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan to take up the fitness challenge.
However, Roshan's efforts to motivate his fans saw him being trolled.
In a bid to encourage his fans to stay fit, Roshan took to the streets of Mumbai and recorded a video of hims riding a bicycle. “This initiative makes me so proud! Bravo. #HumFitTohIndiaFit #FitnessChallenge this is how I commute to my office every day. Sitting static in a car is such a waste. Walk, cycle, jog, feel the earth, feel India get FIT!” Roshan captioned the video.
Trolls soon flooded his timeline to remind him about the perils of riding a bicycle without a helmet.
Check out a few reactions below:
This is called violation of traffic rules. @MumbaiPolice what you are going to do now?@iHrithik you should have done it in open ground rather than on busy road.

It’s easy for celebrities because of their life style and free Leisure time.
There are people who are struggling daily inorder to meet their daily needs and wants and are really stressful. Mostly they may try for 1 week to follow this initiative and later will naturally forget it
