Pankaj Tripathi joins Irrfan Khan on the cast of Angrezi Medium

Pankaj Tripathi is set to collaborate with National Film Award-winning Irrfan Khan for the first time in his career. The actor has been signed on for a cameo in Khan’s next film, titled Angrezi Medium.

Talking about his role in the film, Tripathi said, "It's a cameo appearance. It's my love and respect for Irrfan and my friendship with Dinu (producer Dinesh Vijan) that made me say yes to it. I always wanted to work with Irrfan and when Dinu offered me this role, I immediately agreed even if it's just a cameo role."

Dinesh Vijan and Pankaj Tripathi have previously collaborated on two blockbuster films, namely Stree (2018) and Luka Chuppi (2019).

Angrezi Medium, which is currently being shot in Udaipur, is the sequel to Irrfan Khan’s 2017 film, Hindi Medium. It's the first film Khan is working on after he was treated for neuroendocrine tumour last year.

Being directed by Homi Adajania, the satirical drama also features Deepak Dobriyal and Radhika Madan in important roles. If reports are to be believed, Kareena Kapoor Khan has also joined the star cast of the film to play a pivotal part in it.

Whitney Houston estate challenges Oprah Winfrey’s account of 2009 stage fall: ‘She was absolutely not high’

Highlights

  • Whitney Houston’s estate has disputed Oprah Winfrey’s claim that the singer had relapsed when she fell during a 2009 television appearance.
  • Winfrey said at Cannes Lions that Houston was “back on drugs” during the interview.
  • The estate insists the fall happened during a sound check because of poor visibility and an unfamiliar stage setup.
  • Representatives described the suggestion that Houston was under the influence as “inaccurate and unfair”.

Whitney Houston’s estate has pushed back against comments made by Oprah Winfrey about the singer’s 2009 appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, arguing that a long-discussed stage fall has been wrongly linked to Houston’s past struggles with substance abuse.

The disagreement centres on a recent account shared by Winfrey, who suggested Houston had relapsed at the time of the interview. The estate has firmly rejected that version of events, saying the singer’s fall had nothing to do with drug use.
