Noted filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi hospitalized

Acclaimed Hindi filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who is known for a series of successful films like Ghayal, DaminiAndaz Apna ApnaGhatakPukar and Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani, has been admitted to the Nanavati hospital in Mumbai, after he complained of severe chest pain.

"He has been admitted to the hospital for a heart- related problem. We can't share any further information at the moment," PTI quoted a hospital official as saying.


The director was earlier spotted joining the Kapoor family in mourning of screen legend Sridevi.

According to some sources, Santoshi is stable now. He underwent angioplasty, reported another news agency.

The director was recently in news for joining hands with Aanand L Rai for a film. He will helm one of Rai’s upcoming ventures to be made under the banner of Colour Yellow Production.

A survey by Top India, involving more than 1,000 people linked to the entertainment sector, shows many workers are either getting limited work or seeing their salaries drop sharply.

Many people in the survey said payments for available projects have fallen by nearly 50 to 60 percent compared to previous years. The money troubles come as the world deals with tensions and economic uncertainty.

Recent moves for energy savings and tighter spending across sectors have added pressure, with clear effects now showing in Bollywood and television production.
