Not Arjun Kapoor but Ranveer Singh to play Kapil Dev on-screen!

A couple of days back, rumours were floating around that actor Arjun Kapoor has been picked to play the legendary cricketer Kapil Sharma in a film based on the iconic World Cup victory of Indian Cricket team against West Indies in 1983.

But, if the latest reports are to be believed, it's not Arjun Kapoor but his best buddy Ranveer Singh who has finally bagged the role. Yes, Ranveer will play Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's next directorial.

According to reports, Ranveer had a meeting with Kabir Khan last week to discuss the project in detail. Some insiders add that even if Ranveer and Kabir, it is certain that Arjun would not be part of the coveted project.

To be produced by Phantom Films, the film is tentatively titled World Cup 1983.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently busy with his film Padmavati which is slated to release on 1 December.
