Neeraj Pandey set to remake Tamil blockbuster Vikram Vedha

Renowned Hindi filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, whose credits include such blockbusters as A Wednesday (2008), Special 26 (2013) and Baby (2015), had recently secured the remake rights of Tamil blockbuster Vikram Vedha (2017).

Now, Pandey’s Friday Filmworks has registered the title of the project with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association. Divulging the details, a source from IMPPA informs, “Friday Filmworks have blocked the title for a film as well as for television and a web-series so that no one can take and misuse the title.”

According to reports, superstar Shah Rukh Khan was quite keen to be a part of the film. He wanted to play the character which was played by Vijay Sethupathi in the original. However, the cast has not been finalized yet.

We also hear that R. Madhavan, Vijay Sethupathi and Shraddha Srinath, who played lead roles in Vikram Vedha and won rave reviews for their performances, are keen on reprising their roles in the Hindi version of the film also.

Neeraj Pandey himself is expected to call the shots for the remake.
