Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte sign a love story

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, two award-winning actors who work in both commercial and off-beat cinema, have reportedly signed a new film, titled Raat Akeli Hai. The duo has previously worked together in Badlapur (2015) and Manjhi: The Mountain Man (2016).

Raat Akeli Hai will be helmed by renowned casting director Honey Trehan. The film will mark his debut as a director. He has previously assisted celebrated filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj on a number of successful films.

The movie is a love story where Nawaz and Radhika play the lead couple. Revealing how Honey Trehan came about casting both the actors, a source close to the development reveals, “It’s a love story set in the heartland of India. Honey was on the lookout for his leading lady for a while now and thought Radhika fit the part to the T. Radhika and Honey have known each other for many years, while Nawaz and Radhika get along well, too. She loved the script and instantly gave her nod to the project. The team is set to start shooting in January.”

Meanwhile, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is busy with his next film Thackeray, which is a biopic on the late Maharashtrian politician and Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray. Radhika, on the other hand, is promoting her next Baazaar.
