Lib Dem candidate meets senior spiritual leader ahead of EU elections

THE Liberal Democrats candidate for the European Elections was blessed by His Holiness Doctor Swami in London on Saturday (18).

Dinesh Dhamija met with the religious leader at the BAPs Swaminarayan Temple in Neasden, northwest London.

The businessman was blessed by Doctor Swami and was presented with a special edition book on the work of the religious organisation.

Speaking with Eastern Eye last week, Dhamija said he was pleased by the outpour of support for the Lib Dems who saw gains across the country at the local elections earlier this month.

The mogul, who is number two on the Lib Dem list for London representatives, is also known as the founder of travel website eBookers.

On Thursday (23), voters will elect 73 MEPs from across the country with eight MEPs representing the capital.
