Murtuza Iqbal

Kartik Aaryan has some interesting projects lined up. He will be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Dostana 2, and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo remake (not yet officially announced).

And now, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the actor will be seen in Neerja director, Ram Madhvani’s next film.

A source told the entertainment portal, “It’s a subject that Kartik loved in the first narration and instantly allotted his dates to Madhvani. It’s a different space for Kartik, who so far is synonymous with rom-coms, and he is all charged up to embark on this new journey."

Reportedly, the shooting of the film will kickstart in December and will be wrapped up in 45 to 50 days. “In-fact, it will be ready before his already on floors films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2. It will most probably release during summer 2021,” the source further stated.

It is said that an official announcement about the film will be made soon with the title and the name of the female lead.

After Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Kartik Aaryan has become a star and has featured in successful films like Luka Chuppi and Pati Patni Aur Woh. However, earlier this year, Kartik starred in Love Aaj Kal opposite Sara Ali Khan and the film failed to make a mark at the box office. The actor was supposed to star in an action film to be directed by Om Raut (Tanhaji fame), however, a few months ago, it was announced that the film has been shelved.

Meanwhile, after Neerja, Ram Madhvani has not helmed any film, but he directed Sushmita Sen starrer web series Aarya which released on Disney+ Hotstar a few months ago.

Politics of grooming gangs

Sir Keir Starmer was never keen on an inquiry specifically on Pakistani grooming gangs. The prime minister wants to be protective of the wider Pakistani community in the UK. The last thing he wants is an Islamophobic report which states that for cultural and religious reasons, Muslim Pakistan men have been targeting vulnerable white children and young women. But this is precisely the conclusion that some of the survivors and other groups want.

The Labour leadership was already in trouble with some Pakistani voters who felt it was not sufficiently critical of Israel’s military approach in the Gaza war. Starmer would not want to alienate them further with a report that picks out only Pakistanis when it comes to sexual abuse. It would be preferable to have a report that acknowledges that while there has been an historic problem with Pakistani grooming gangs in places such as Rotherham and Rochdale, white men are involved, too, in bigger numbers across the UK as a whole.
