Karisma Kapoor not in a hurry to sign her next projects

Karisma Kapoor is back in the reckoning once again. After staying away from light, camera and action for almost eight long years, the diva made her acting comeback with the much-talked-about ALTBalaji webseries Mentalhood (2020).

Produced by content czarina Ekta Kapoor, the webseries has received overwhelming response from viewers and is still attracting a huge chunk of the audience. With a superhit webseries already in her kitty, Karisma Kapoor has been receiving a slew of new web projects ever since the grand premiere of Mentalhood. However, the actress seems in no hurry and is taking her time before greenlighting her next project.

“Right from the time her show was announced, she has been given many offers. The web is a different medium from cinema and not only offers scope for women as lead actresses but also moves beyond the song and dance routine,” a source in the know informs a popular publication.

The source goes on to add that the actress has around seven offers on her platter at the moment. “Lolo has around seven offers for shows, but she has not really agreed to any of them. The lockdown is in place at the moment and she has enough time to sit and introspect on what she wants to do next,” the source says in conclusion.

The success of Mentalhood has proved that Karisma Kapoor’s popularity has not contracted even a bit over the years. She still has her loyal audience that wants to see her more before cameras. We hope that she announces her next project soon. It will be great if she picks up some films also as some of her fans want to see her sizzle the silver screen once again.

These titles are travelling further than they ever have, including into the UK’s busy OTT space.

It’s about scale, quality, and the strange comfort of old stories in a digital world that changes too fast. And in a UK market dealing with subscription fatigue, anything fresh, strong, and rooted in clear storytelling gets noticed.
