Karan Johar set to announce Dostana 2

According to fresh reports doing the rounds, filmmaker Karan Johar is set to produce a sequel to his 2008 blockbuster film Dostana (2008). Yes, Dostana 2 is in the offing, as per reports.

Talks about a sequel to the successful film started right after the release of Dostana in 2008. However, Karan was not convinced with the scripts which came his way and hence he chose to put Dostana 2 on the backburner.

But now a well-placed source reveals that Karan has finally found a script which he thinks will be perfect for Dostana 2. The filmmaker may announce the project in the coming few weeks.

“The script is currently being developed and should be locked by the end of the month. The film is expected to go on the floors early next year,” informs the source.

Dostana starred Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham. The source adds that Dostana 2 will star two fresh male leads. “Karan wants to cast two new actors in the film,”

Karan is planning to rope in a leading Bollywood actress to play the female lead in the movie. “There will be a girl to complete the triangle and she will be a Bollywood A-lister but it won’t be Priyanka reprising her role,” adds the source.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar is also in news for his next directorial venture, which he wants to make on a huge scale.
