John Krasinski expresses his desire to watch SS Rajamouli’s RRR; says, ‘I heard it’s unbelievable’

John Krasinski, who is presently busy promoting the third season of his hit streaming show Jack Ryan, has expressed his desire to watch SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster film RRR (2022).

While promoting his show in India, Krasinski talked about RRR and his wish to do a Bollywood film in the future.

He said he is okay with doing a Bollywood film but he won’t dance in it. “God, I would love to do a Bollywood film but oh, no dancing. I would be horrible. I would be in the scene, but I would be the person that's not dancing,” Krasinski said. “That is true. I mean, I will do it but with maybe some subtitles at the bottom that says ‘this guy's horrible’. As long as the audience is aware.”

He expressed his desire to watch RRR. “Oh my God, I heard it is unbelievable. I have been wanting to see it, but I have not been able to see anything. I was just directing a movie, but I cannot wait to see it,” he added.

Meanwhile, the popular track “Naatu Naatu” from RRR has been shortlisted in the Best Original Song Category. The film, which released across the globe in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, has submitted itself for consideration in various Oscar categories.

Jack Ryan, which has been co-produced by Amazon Studios, Paramount Television Studios, and Skydance Television, is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The series stars John Krasinski as Jake Ryan, Wendell Pierce as James Greer, Michael Kelly as Mike November, Betty Gabriel as Elizabeth Wright, James Cosmo as Luca, Peter Guinness as Petr, Nina Hoss as Alena, and Michael Peña as Domingo Chavez.

If reports are to be believed, the series has been renewed for the fourth season as well and a spin-off is also in the works.

‘Really Absurd’: Streaming giants are deleting fan-favourite 'Premalu' to force-feed its Hindi remake

Highlights

  • Premalu has disappeared from JioHotstar just as the trailer for its Hindi remake Prem Keetanu was released.
  • Fans have questioned why the Malayalam hit was removed ahead of the remake’s October theatrical release.
  • The remake’s trailer has already faced criticism from viewers who compared it unfavourably with the original.

There is something particularly awkward about launching a remake while the film it is based on has suddenly become harder to watch.

That is exactly what has happened with Prem Keetanu, the Hindi remake of Malayalam blockbuster Premalu. The trailer for the Veer Pahariya-starrer dropped on Monday, but instead of simply debating whether the remake can live up to the original, fans found themselves asking another question: where did Premalu go?
