Janhvi Kapoor to pair up with southern superstar Dulquer Salmaan?

A couple of months ago, we had reported that Janhvi Kapoor, who made her big screen debut with Karan Johar’s Dhadak (2018), was in talks with Dharma Productions to star in a biopic based on the life of air force pilot and the first Indian female combat aviator, Gunjan Saxena, who played a crucial role during the 1999 Kargil War.

The latest update on the untitled project is that southern superstar Dulquer Salmaan, who debuted in Hindi films with road-trip movie Karwaan (2018), has been roped in to play the male lead in the flick.

Though the makers are yet to announce the project officially, insiders reveal it is indeed in the works at Dharma Productions. Karan Johar is expected to announce the cast and crew of the film very soon.

Meanwhile, Salmaan is presently busy shooting for his second Bollywood outing The Zoya Factor, a film which stars fashionista Sonam Kapoor as his leading lady. It is being helmed by Abhishek Sharma.

Janhvi, on the other hand, is preparing for her second film Takht, a period drama also starring Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal and Anil Kapoor in its principal cast. It will be directed by Karan Johar.

If Janhvi has also signed the Gunjan Saxena biopic, it will be her third film with Dharma Productions in a row.
