Janhvi Kapoor starts prep for period drama Takht

Newcomer Janhvi Kapoor, who made her smashing acting debut with Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak (2018), will next be seen in Karan Johar’s much-talked-about directorial Takht.

Takht is a period drama which revolves around a high-profile Mughal dynasty. Its cast also features actors including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.

The latest we hear that Janhvi Kapoor has started preparing for her role in the movie. Since the film requires her to mouth her dialogues in chaste Hindi and Urdu and also dance on some classical numbers, the actress has started prep much in advance.

According to a source, Kapoor is practising her dance moves and dialogues for three hours daily. She is busy attending an extensive training session in a Mumbai studio in order to perfect her part.

“Janhvi reaches the Kent Star studio for rehearsals around 11 am and is busy there until 2 pm. She leaves the studio after about three hours. Janhvi is rehearsing for her second film, Takht. She comes to this studio on a daily basis. She rehearses on the third floor… for dance may be. We are not allowed to go inside the rehearsal room, but whatever it is, she practices for almost three hours. Sweating it out for three hours, her next film will also bring positive results at the box office for sure,” reveals the source.

Set to go on floors early next year, Takht is slated to release on Christmas 2020.
