Jacqueline Fernandez wanted her parents to be with her in lockdown

The Coronavirus outbreak has brought us all to our knees. The pandemic, which is showing no sign of slowing down, has impacted everybody’s life in ways more than one. With all the flights suspended, people are unable to meet their families living in other parts of the country or abroad. Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez is also missing her parents dearly as she cannot go to meet them in Bahrain due to the air travel restrictions.

Expressing her concerns, she tells an Indian daily, “I wanted my parents to really be with me right now; I am concerned about their health and how they are doing. The funny thing is that they are concerned about me and are like ‘you are all alone there’. But I am worried about my parents being on their own.”

The actress, who hails from India’s neighbouring country Sri Lanka, adds that she feels that the people who have their parents by their side at this time are rather lucky. “Right now, they do need all the love, care and attention. They are vulnerable at this point. We need to be there for them,” she expresses.

Talking about the 21-day lockdown imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Fernandez says that it took her sometime to realize what was happening. However, social media came to her rescue. “It just took me sometime to realize what was happening and the first week was difficult. I felt a bit lost thinking about what I would do. However, I realised that I may not be able to go on a film set but I have my audiences and a platform and I decided to be as creative as possible,” she says in conclusion.
