A solo yachtsman, Indian naval officer, Abhilash Tomy trapped in his bunk by a serious back injury thousands of kilometres (miles) from land was rescued on the third day on Monday (24) with the help of French ship Osiris in the southern Indian Ocean, said an Indian navy official said. Abhilash Tomy, a competitor in the Golden Globe round-the-world race, was badly injured when his vessel was damaged in a storm on Friday (21), 3,500 kilometres (2,200 miles) from Western Australia.
