India president Pranab Mukherjee condemns Manchester terror attack

India president Pranab Mukherjee has strongly condemned the blast in Manchester which killed at least 22 people and injured around 59.

In a series of tweets, the president said he was shocked to hear of the Manchester blast and conveyed condolences to the families of deceased and prayers for injured.


"India stands by government and people of UK in this hour of distress," Mukherjee said.

The explosion occurred at a pop concert by the US star Ariana Grande in the Manchester Arena which is being treated as a terrorist incident.

The pop star is safe after the incident.

The UK government has urged regulator Ofcom to use all its powers, including the possibility of an effective ban against X over concerns about unlawful AI-generated images created on the Elon Musk-owned platform.

Ofcom's powers include the ability to obtain court orders preventing third parties from helping X raise money or from being accessed in the UK.
