Fatima Sana Shaikh in talks to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan?

After working with Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan in Dangal (2016) and Thugs Of Hindostan (2018), Fatima Sana Shaikh might join forces with superstar Shah Rukh Khan for her next project.

Buzz has it that the newcomer is being considered to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the much-awaited space odyssey film, Saare Jahan Se Accha, which is being produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur.

“The makers are still on a hunt for the leading lady. Fatima Sana Shaikh too is being considered for the role. They seem to be quite impressed with her performances and she is one of the leading contenders for it,” a source close to the project reveals.

Besides Fatima Sana Shaikh, several other popular actresses are in the race to bag the female lead in the movie. The final name is expected to be announced soon.

Based on the life of Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma, Saare Jahan Se Accha will be directed by Mahesh Mathai. The film is expected to begin production in February.

Besides Siddharth Roy Kapur, producer Ronnie Screwvala has also come onboard to co-produce the high-profile film.

More details are awaited.

  • Part of wider plan to fight violence against women and online harm.
  • Tech firms will be forced to block such content or face heavy Ofcom fines.
  • Experts say the ban responds to medical evidence and years of campaigning.

The plan is to make possessing or distributing pornographic material that shows sexual strangulation, often called ‘choking’, illegal. This is a specific amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill. Ministers are acting on the back of a stark, independent review. That report found this kind of violence is not just available online, but it is rampant. It has quietly, steadily, become normalised.
