Fanne Khan locks a new release date

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s keenly-awaited film, Fanne Khan, has been postponed to a new date. Earlier slated to enter cinemas on 13th July, the musical drama will now arrive in theatres on 3rd August.

Though the makers have shifted back to a new release date, there is no respite from a clash at the box-office. Earlier, Fanne Khan was scheduled to release on Eid, clashing with Salman Khan Films’ Race 3, starring Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah, and Saqib Saleem.

However, the film was postponed to 13th July to battle it out with the Diljeet Singh and Taapsee Pannu starrer Soorma at the box-office. But now, the makers have opted for 3rd August. But even after being postponed so many times, Fanne Khan will not have a solo release. The film will clash with Irrfan Khan’s Karwaan which is also slated to hit screens on 3rd August.

Helmed by Atul Manjrekar, Fanne Khan is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and nominees of ROMPL.

Charli XCX has gone beyond the glitz to expose the sexism female pop stars still face. In a candid essay, she said that no matter what a woman does in pop music, someone will label it the wrong way. Sexy becomes “whore,” rebellious becomes “drug addict,” smart becomes “pretentious.” Her reflections also touch on the hidden side of touring life, showing that fame isn’t just lights and parties, it’s long waits, chaotic travel, and constant scrutiny.
