Ekta Kapoor reveals why she opted to cast Ayushmann Khurrana in Dream Girl

A few days ago, the trailer of Dream Girl was launched at an event in Mumbai. The trailer has received a great response and people can’t stop praising Ayushmann Khurrana’s act in the film. The actor will be seen playing the role of a man who portrays the character of Radha and Sita in theatre plays. Well, he also starts talking to men in a female voice with the name Pooja and all the men fall in love with Pooja.

Of course, the trailer made us go rolling on the floor laughing. After watching it we cannot imagine any other actor apart from Ayushmann portraying this character. The movie is produced by Ekta Kapoor and while talking about why he chose Ayushmann for this character, she said, "When Raaj narrated the script to me, I was of course on floors. I knew only one actor who could do these voice modulations, who will work this hard was Aayushman. I was sure this man bets on scripts. He won't see how big the film is, won't go through the resume of the director. He would read the script and he would perform in himself the ability to perform this role."

Ayushmann is very fluently speaking in a female voice which surely makes us wonder if someone else has dubbed for him. However, the actor at the trailer had also revealed that he himself has dubbed in the female voice. Recently, he also posted a picture from the dubbing and wrote, “Jo Pooja ki aawaaz aapne trailer mein suni hai woh meri apni hai. Shukriya #DreamGirl.”

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl also stars Nushrat Bharucha in the lead role. The film is slated to hit the screens on 13th September 2019. A couple of days ago, the makers released the first track of the film titled Radhe Radhe and it has also received a good response.

AI system using Apple Watch-style ECG shows strong accuracy in detecting heart disease

Key points

  • Yale researchers trial AI tool that reads single-lead ECG data similar to that captured by an Apple Watch
  • Early results suggest around 92% accuracy compared with hospital-grade tests
  • System could support earlier screening for structural heart disease, but more research is needed

A smartwatch could one day help detect serious heart conditions earlier, after researchers reported promising results from an artificial intelligence tool designed to analyse ECG readings similar to those produced by an Apple Watch.

What the study looked at

Diagnosing structural heart disease, which includes problems such as damaged valves, thickened heart muscle and reduced pumping function, typically requires specialist equipment such as an echocardiogram. Smartwatches already offer single-lead ECG readings, but these are generally limited to identifying rhythm issues like atrial fibrillation.
