Ekta Kapoor introduces the first lead from her show Naagin 3

When Ekta Kapoor's supernatural fantasy drama Naagin hit the tube in 2015, no one had thought it would go on to become such a huge hit among the audience. The massive success of the show encouraged Ekta to come up with Naagin 2 which again proved to be a game changer for broadcaster Colors and production house, Balaji Telefilms.

After two successful seasons, Ekta Kapoor is set to launch the next instalment Naagin 3, which will hit the airwaves in coming few weeks. Today, she took to her Twitter handle and introduced actress Karishma Tanna as the first Naagin of the show. "Here comes the first Naagin. Karishma Tanna, welcome to Naagin 3," the popular producer wrote.

The previous two instalments of the series had actress Mouni Roy in the title role. But since Roy is currently busy shaping her Bollywood career, Ekta has roped in other popular actresses from the telly land. Besides Karishma Tanna, Surbhi Jyoti and Anita Hassanandani will also be seen as Naagins in Naagin 3.

Talking about the cast, a source had earlier said, "With the already popular faces Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan missing from the screen, the makers decided to get well-known actors Anita and Surbhi in their places."

Naagin 3 will telecast on Colors TV.

  • The studios say the lawsuit is about protecting copyrighted characters, not preventing the development of AI.

Midjourney has argued that the Hollywood studios suing it over copyright infringement may be using artificial intelligence in ways similar to those at the centre of the legal dispute, as it seeks broader access to their internal AI records.

In a new court filing, the AI image-generation company asked for Disney, Universal and Warner Bros. to produce more documents during the discovery process, saying the material could strengthen its defence.
