Dabangg 3 script almost locked, says Arbaaz Khan

Everyone is waiting for the day when Arbaaz Khan formally announces his much-awaited production Dabangg 3. Though it may take some time before the sequel is officially announced, Arbaaz has confirmed that he has locked the script for the third instalment of the Dabangg franchise.

Talking to a popular Indian daily, Khan revealed, “We will start (shooting) sometime around mid-year. We have almost locked the script. We are currently working on the casting, location, and music.”

While Dabangg was directed by Abhinav Kashyap, Dabangg 2 was helmed by Arbaaz Khan. But for Dabangg 3, the directorial baton has been passed on to Prabhu Deva. When asked the reason behind bringing him on board, Khan said, “He has been a film guy for the longest time. He understands the audience. There are a lot of suggestions that come from him. He is a confident director. He has watched both the films and is a fan. He understands the franchise too well by now”.

Khan also reveals that the overall brand of Dabangg will remain the same in the third part as well, “Every brand promises something. We have to maintain that. We have to keep the flavours intact. I can’t serve the audience something which they are not expecting. I have to give them a Dabangg-ish scenario. It may be presented differently but it will have the same essence. We know what the areas are and we are working on them”.

While Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha are without any doubt part of Dabangg 3, the makers are looking at casting one more female lead for the movie.
