Bollywood movies that were a remake of Korean films

We always feel that Bollywood movies are either a remake of Hollywood films or the films from down South. But, not many would know that Bollywood filmmakers have also explored Korean cinema and there are many Hindi films that have been inspired by Korean movies. So, here’s the list of Hindi films that were a remake of Korean movies.

Rocky Handsome


John Abraham starrer Rocky Handsome was a remake of the Korean film The Man From Nowhere. The movie revolved friendship between a mysterious man and a small girl. When the girl gets kidnapped, the man gives his best to find her.

Ek Villain

Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh starrer Ek Villain is also inspired by a Korean film titled I Saw The Devil. By the way, it is said that the Korean film was more brutal and violent than Ek Villain.

Zinda

Directed by Sanjay Gupta and starring Sanjay Dutt and John Abraham, Zinda was an official remake of Korean film Oldboy. Though the Hindi film didn’t do well at the box office neither was appreciated by critics, the Korean film is said to be a very well made movie.

Jazbaa

Looks like Sanjay Gupta really loves Korean films. Not just Zinda but his movie Jazbaa starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also a remake of Korean movie Seven Days. Jazbaa like Zinda too didn’t do that well at the box office, but Aishwarya’s performance was appreciated a lot.

Te3n

Te3n starring Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Vidya Balan was a remake of Korean movie Montage. However, looks like Hindi cinema audience doesn’t like the content of Korean movies much as even this one was a flop at the box office.

Bharat

Salman Khan starrer Bharat too is an adaptation of Korean movie Ode To My Father. The original movie was a hit and was appreciated by the critics as well. It also won many awards. Now let’s see what will be the fate of Bharat.

Veteran remake

After Bharat, Salman will be starring in one more Korean remake. We are talking about the film Veteran. It’s a thriller and the remake rights of the film have been bought by Atul Agnihotri who is also producing Bharat.

Actor and television personality Shefali Jariwala, who rose to fame with the early 2000s music video Kaanta Laga, has died following a sudden cardiac arrest. The 42-year-old was declared dead at Bellevue Hospital in Mumbai late on Friday night, 28 June. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, reportedly rushed her to the hospital around midnight with the help of close friends.

Despite immediate medical attention, doctors could not revive her. A hospital source confirmed she was “dead on arrival” at 11:27 pm. Her death has left friends, fans, and colleagues in shock, as many described her as healthy, cheerful, and actively working.
