Ayushmann Khurrana: I personally love Priyanka Chopra’s voice

In Dream Girl, Ayushmann Khurrana will be seen playing the role of a guy working in a call centre where he talks to people in a female voice with the name Pooja. A lot of men and even a woman fall in love with Pooja and then, of course, a lot of funny chaos happens in the film. The trailer of Dream Girl has impressed one and all, and everyone is waiting for it to hit the screens on 13th September 2019.

Ayushmann, himself has dubbed for the female voice in the movie. While talking to a tabloid, he revealed that while the shooting of the film was going on, the film’s team was thinking of having an actress dub for the female voice or a voiceover artist. During the shooting, the actor too gave his best to speak in a female voice. Ayushmann says, “Since I was 80 percent there, I thought of giving it a try, then, if things didn’t work out, we could try getting an actress or a good voiceover artist on board too. I personally love Priyanka Chopra’s voice.”

Talking about dubbing in the female voice, the actor said, “Of course, I had to give 30-40 takes, focussing on every single line. It was hard work, but we finally got it right.” Ayushmann reveals that when he was 15 he used to call at his girlfriend’s residence, and if her parents picked up the call, he used to pretend to be a female friend. “I think I’d been preparing for this film for years,” the actor added.

The actor also revealed that the inspiration behind this character was Aamir Khan (Baazi) and Kamal Haasan (Chachi 420). He said, “They both inspired me but Dream Girl revolves around the boy who works in a call centre, so I had to wear a saree or a lehenga in only around five scenes.”

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl also stars Nushrat Bharucha in the lead role.

Spotify’s new badge confirms an artist is human but does not verify their music

Highlights

  • Spotify’s “Verified by Spotify” badge confirms human artists, not AI music.
  • Over 99 per cent of frequently searched artists will be verified at launch.
  • Critics say it may disadvantage independent, non-touring artists.
Spotify is giving human artists a green checkmark on their profiles, but the badge will not tell listeners whether the music itself was made using artificial intelligence.
The "Verified by Spotify" label will appear next to artist names in search results and on profile pages for those who meet the platform's authenticity standards.
These include consistent listener activity, linked social media accounts, and real-world signals such as concert dates or merchandise listings.

Spotify said more than 99 per cent of artists that listeners actively search for will receive the badge at launch, covering hundreds of thousands of acts across genres and geographies.

The platform noted that it would focus on artists who have genuinely contributed to music culture rather than accounts it called "content farms" designed around passive background listening.
